Paul is a long-time Singapore resident, arriving in 1996 with Marsh after an initial career start in Boston and London. He later founded the risk consulting division for JLT Asia, developing it into a profitable business unit with a strong suite of consulting clients.
Much of Paul’s career has been advising to large Asian corporates and global multinationals on their risk management and finance issues. Upon graduating from INSEAD, Paul had a stint in the entrepreneurial scene working with a number of startups learning much along the way about organizational resilience.
Paul was most recently appointed as “Global Head of Change – Risk & Compliance” to Platts, part of the McGraw Hill Financial group. Working closely with the global Risk & Compliance team, Paul leads the implementation of key risk projects with the aim to proactively support Platts’ business model, cognizant of increased regulatory and stakeholder interest in the company as a Price Reporting Agency to the commodities sector. In addition, Paul acts as the ‘senior guardian’ for Risk & Compliance issues across Platts’ Asia-Pacific operations.
Throughout his career, Paul has supported the Asia risk community through his leadership of the “Asia Risk Council” an early forerunner of PARIMA, as guest lecturer to risk management courses, and mentoring to aspiring young professionals.
Married with three young children, Paul is a graduate of Trinity College Dublin and more recently INSEAD’s Executive-MBA Programme.
