We are entering a new era of risk. Global dynamics are shifting, and the hierarchy of risks is being constantly redefined. Geopolitical tensions, technological acceleration, climate pressures, and societal transformations are evolving faster than traditional frameworks can keep pace. In this context, “order” takes on multiple dimensions: a new hierarchy of risks, a new structure for interpreting them, and a new mandate for risk leaders to respond with agility and foresight.

This new order is not imposed—it is emerging. And as Asia charts its own course, the region is increasingly shaping how risks are understood and managed on its own terms.

In 2026, The New Risk Order invites risk professionals to explore this evolving landscape, lead with clarity, adapt with confidence, and help define the future of the profession in a world where the rules—and the risks—are continually being rewritten.

From Buying Insurance to Selling Your Risk
In a shifting risk landscape, insurance buying is no longer just about securing quotes, it’s about intentionally selling your organisation’s risks to the market. This session facilitates discussion around how risk managers can take a strategic approach towards engaging insurers: one that reframes the conversation around risk quality, data credibility, retention design, and aligned incentives.

Turning Data into Decisions: Strengthening Resilience for Assets, Liabilities, Climate and Cyber Risks
Escalating climate volatility; rising exposure to natural catastrophe risks; and increasingly complex cyber threats are reshaping how organisations navigate disruption across Asia. This session explores how data and analytics can move beyond insight to inform practical and confident decision-making on risk prioritisation, capital allocation and continuity planning. Through scenario-led discussion, participants will examine how deeply natural catastrophe and cyber risks can impact operations, supply chains and financial performance, and how to strengthen resilience frameworks by linking risk data directly to mitigation strategies and response and recovery management.

ENSO in Focus: Turning El Niño Signals into Actionable Risk Decisions
With regional and international agencies now officially declaring El Niño conditions, attention is rapidly turning to what this means for weather volatility and business disruption in the months ahead. Past El Niño events have been linked to severe drought, transboundary haze and degraded air quality, and extreme heat across the region; most notably in 2015–16 and again in 2023–24. The downstream impacts can be material: agricultural output shocks, water shortages, supply-chain disruption, and billions of dollars in economic losses across Asia.

This masterclass delivers a practical, executive-ready briefing on ENSO : what it is, how it is forecast, monitored, and officially declared, and how its effects can translate into operational, financial, and strategic risks for key industries. We will also explore how climate change may alter ENSO behaviour over time and what that could mean for future risk planning.

Participants will leave with a clearer understanding of the signals to watch, the risk pathways that matter, and how to translate ENSO outlooks into more resilient decisions.

PARIMA | QBE Next Gen Risk Takers
Next-Gen Risk Takers, a speaking challenge, is a platform for emerging Risk Professionals to share their risk-related learnings and stories to a live audience. Prior to this, candidates submitted their applications in the form of an essay. While many entries had come in, only a selected few were chosen by PARIMA’s Executive Committee. These finalists will be sharing their risk stories to the audience on the Masterclass Day. The winner(s) of the challenge will be awarded with a subsidised trip and an opportunity to speak at the flagship PARIMA Conference in Singapore, scheduled for 14-15 October 2026.

Spur on PARIMA’s very own Risk Professionals and be part of this exciting initiative!
