PARIMA Singapore Conference 2026

The New

Risk Order

Join Asia’s leading risk and insurance gathering at the PARIMA Singapore Conference. Connect with industry leaders, explore emerging risk solutions, and shape the future of resilience.

We are entering a new era of risk.

Global dynamics are shifting, and the hierarchy of risks is being constantly redefined. Geopolitical tensions, technological acceleration, climate pressures, and societal transformations are evolving faster than traditional frameworks can keep pace. In this context, “order” takes on multiple dimensions: a new hierarchy of risks, a new structure for interpreting them, and a new mandate for risk leaders to respond with agility and foresight.

This new order is not imposed—it is emerging. And as Asia charts its own course, the region is increasingly shaping how risks are understood and managed on its own terms.

In 2026, The New Risk Order invites risk professionals to explore this evolving landscape, lead with clarity, adapt with confidence, and help define the future of the profession in a world where the rules—and the risks—are continually being rewritten.

When the Ground Shifts: Preparedness and Crisis Decision-Making for Natural Hazards
Natural hazards such as earthquakes are low-frequency but high-impact events that can rapidly escalate into complex crises affecting people, operations, supply chains, and business continuity. For risk managers, preparedness goes beyond having plans on paper. It requires the ability to make critical decisions under pressure, coordinate stakeholders, and respond effectively when information is incomplete and conditions are evolving.

In this highly interactive 2-hour masterclass, we will lead participants through a realistic earthquake scenario simulation designed to test preparedness, resilience, and crisis management capabilities. Participants will work through unfolding events, evaluate risks, make time-critical decisions, and navigate challenges affecting workforce safety, operational continuity, communications, and stakeholder management.

Drawing on real-world crisis response expertise and lessons learned from major disasters worldwide, this hands-on session will provide practical insights into strengthening organisational readiness and enhancing decision-making during disruptive events. Participants will leave with actionable strategies to improve crisis preparedness, response coordination, and resilience within their organisations.

Governing AI Risk: Building Cyber Resilience and Insurability in an AI-Driven World
As AI becomes increasingly embedded across business operations, AI governance is emerging as a critical enterprise risk priority. The challenge for organisations is no longer simply how to adopt AI, but how to establish clear accountability, authority and controls around its use, particularly as AI begins to reshape the nature and speed of cyber risk.

AI can accelerate attacks, expand the attack surface and introduce autonomous systems that may be compromised, deceived or act beyond their intended authority. These events can quickly result in losses spanning fraud, cyber, liability, business interruption and even physical damage, challenging traditional approaches to risk management and insurance.

Using practical loss scenarios, this panel will examine AI governance through the lens of cyber risk and resilience: Who owns and authorises AI activity? What controls and oversight are needed? Can organisations respond effectively when incidents unfold at machine speed? And how do governance decisions ultimately affect resilience, insurabilityand risk transfer?

The discussion will explore what boards, risk leaders and organisations need to put in place today to govern AI responsibly, strengthen cyber resilience and prepare for the realities of AI-related loss, including who must act when incidents occur, where resilience gaps exist and how recovery will ultimately be funded.

From Black Swan to Black Dragon: A New Boardroom Discipline for the Age of Permanent Disruption
For decades, boards have treated unpredictable risk reactively, recognizing threats only when they become impossible to ignore.

But the weaponization of interdependence, supply chains, financial systems, regulatory frameworks, and data infrastructure has fundamentally changed the rules of the game. Everything designed to connect us is now being used as leverage. That is not a cycle. That is the new operating environment.

This is the era of the Black Dragon. A world of converging forces, visible to those trained to read the signals, yet difficult to govern without the boardroom discipline to navigate uncertainty and act before it crystallizes into crisis.

This session introduces Geopolitical Sonar, a structured capability that enables boards and executive teams to detect weak signals early, connect converging risk patterns, and make strategic decisions ahead of the inflection point. Not when the storm arrives. Before it forms.

The Black Dragon is here and the New Risk Order is now our operating reality. The advantage will belong to organizations that see convergence earlier, preserve their strategic options, and have the courage to act before the moment becomes obvious.

From Episodic to Continuous: Rethinking How We Manage Health and Risk
Chronic disease is now one of the world’s biggest health and economic challenges. Across Asia the burden is rising fast, driving up healthcare costs, eroding workforce productivity, and straining employers, insurers and health systems alike.

The tools to intervene earlier already exist. Smartwatches flag cardiac abnormalities, continuous glucose monitors catch risk before symptoms escalate, and AI-driven remote monitoring is transforming how risk is detected and managed.

Technology is no longer the constraint. The real challenge is turning health data into action: how employers, insurers and providers work together to catch risks earlier — and how much high-stakes health decisions should rest on algorithms that aren’t always transparent.

This isn’t another “wearables are the future” talk — it’s grounded in data, real-world experience and perspectives from across healthcare, closing with a moderated panel of leaders from insurance, health tech and corporate risk debating what’s next.

Participants will leave with sharper insight into workforce health risks, a framework for evaluating health tech, and the strategic questions to shape their organisation’s next move.

Same Risk, Different Playbook: What Risk Leaders Can Learn Across Markets
The same global risks can unfold very differently across the US, Europe, Australia and Asia, shaped by each market’s political, regulatory, economic and business environment. This session will explore how organisations across these regions perceive and respond to evolving risks, and what risk leaders can learn from their different approaches. From navigating geopolitical uncertainty to understanding what the next generation of CROs needs to be good at, the discussion will examine how risk leaders can draw on global perspectives, translate emerging developments into business implications, and strengthen their influence in shaping their organisation’s global risk programme.

Beyond Traditional Insurance: Building Parametric Solutions for Uninsured Risks
When traditional insurance cannot fully address an organisation’s exposures, how can risk managers build solutions around the risks that remain?

Drawing on a real-world case involving earthquake and typhoon exposures, this session follows a risk manager’s journey in developing a customised parametric solution for complex risks, including undersea cables and cable landing stations. From working with multiple providers and designing different triggers across markets to navigating capacity, coverage gaps and placement complexities, the discussion will unpack the thought process behind building the solution — not simply the end result.

The panel will also explore where parametric solutions sit between traditional insurance and financial hedging, how different risk models and triggers can work together without overlapping, and what risk managers should consider when exploring parametric for risks that are difficult to insure.

The Courage to Take Risk: Building a Business Through Uncertainty
Risk professionals spend their careers helping organisations understand and manage uncertainty. But what happens when uncertainty is something you have to embrace in order to move forward?

In this closing keynote, Marie shares the realities of building a sustainable business from the ground up — making decisions without perfect information, taking calculated risks, navigating financial and people challenges, and changing direction when circumstances demand it.

Through her experiences building a social enterprise alongside people from different backgrounds and life paths, Marie offers a different perspective on risk, resilience and leadership — and why sometimes the greatest risk is being unwilling to change.

And as a fitting close to the day, expect a little something special along the way — an experience best left as a surprise.
