Ricky Hayashi is a seasoned professional with over three decades of diverse experience in insurance, risk management, and business development across multiple sectors and geographies.
Ricky began his career with Toyota Tsusho Corporation in 1995, joining the Insurance Department. By 1996, he had taken on the responsibility of managing all lines of insurance within the organisation, integrating risk management strategies into the company’s operations. In 2004, Ricky spearheaded the establishment of a captive marine insurance business, serving as a board member to oversee its management and growth.
His global expertise was further solidified in 2007 when he was stationed in the United States, where he successfully developed an automobile insurance product for Toyota employees, implementing an innovative sales scheme in partnership with local businesses. In 2011, Ricky ventured into healthcare, creating an on-site clinic solution as a value-added service for medical insurance.
From 2013 onwards, Ricky assumed leadership roles that showcased his entrepreneurial vision. He launched a reinsurance business, explored opportunities in the healthcare sector, and introduced new sales schemes for individual insurance products. In 2019, he expanded his management scope to oversee insurance-related companies in Thailand, and by 2023, he took on the role of General Manager of the Lifestyle Division at Toyota Tsusho (Thailand), driving business growth in the food and lifestyle sectors.
Now based in Japan as of 2025, Ricky continues to contribute his extensive expertise to Toyota Tsusho Corporation, bringing a wealth of knowledge and a track record of strategic innovation to his current role.
