Titled “Hoping for the Best, Expecting the Worst: A Fundamentals-Based Approach to Building a Crisis Management Capability,” the workshop was held on 29 May 2025, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM (local time), with a total of 31 number of participants.

The highlight of the workshop was an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of MCIA, offering participants a rare, first-hand look into the airport’s crisis operations and emergency response infrastructure.

The event began with an opening and welcome message by Annacel Natividad, President of PARIMA, followed by Harmone Narparota, PARIMA’s Cebu Chapter Head, and Henrik Jepsen, Chief Finance Officer at Aboitiz InfraCapital Cebu Airport Corporation, setting the stage for an engaging afternoon.

This was followed by a presentation and case study led by our distinguished partners, Marsh, who shared their expertise and real-world insights on crisis management. Aldwin Uy, Deputy Chief Operations Officer (COO) at Aboitiz Cebu Airport Corporation (ACAC) also delivered a presentation on how theory meets reality, offering valuable perspectives from the airport’s operational standpoint.

“We were honoured to host the PARIMA Crisis Management event on 29 May at MCIA. As an operator of multiple airports, we operate in an industry where the impact of risks — on people, property, and business — can be significant. Therefore, risk and crisis management lie at the core of what we do at Aboitiz Airports. We continuously strive to optimise our processes and minimise our risks and their potential impacts, and we are happy to share our learnings to inspire other companies to do the same,” said by Henrik.

“This PARIMA event was an incredible experience. The hands-on approach at MCIA’s Crisis Centre, combined with the expert insights, truly enhanced my understanding of crisis response. A must-attend for any risk manager,” said Harmone Naparota, Manager –– Workplace and Asset Management at Aboitiz Equity Ventures, Inc.

“It is a very unique and immersive experience that truly embodies what PARIMA aims to achieve –– bringing risk managers together to learn from real-world situations. The airport tour was particularly insightful, offering a rare opportunity to understand how crisis operations are managed on the ground. I gained a deeper appreciation for the complexity and coordination involved,” said Annacel A. Natividad, President of PARIMA.
