Norliwati is the Group Chief Risk Officer (GCRO) for PETRONAS, a global energy company and one of the world’s largest corporations. In her role, she leads the institutionalization of risk management across the PETRONAS Group, offering strategic oversight and advisory on balancing risk and reward to support the company’s business objectives. Her responsibilities include enhancing risk capabilities and ensuring robust risk management practices are embedded throughout the organization.
Norliwati has held senior management positions in corporate planning, finance, and risk management, including leadership roles such as Head of Finance at PETRONAS Vietnam, Head of Strategic Planning, and Chief Financial Officer at PETRONAS Dagangan Berhad (PDB), where she played a key role in the launch of SETEL, a mobile payment application.
Prior to her appointment as GCRO, she served as Senior General Manager (Finance & Risk) for PETRONAS Upstream Business, where she led efforts to maximize cash flow and strengthen governance, notably establishing the Upstream Integrity Council.
She holds a Master of Engineering from Imperial College London and is a Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW).
