PARIMA proudly concluded the third edition of its Next-Gen Risk Takers challenge in Mumbai, India on 13 June 2025 –– a dynamic speaking competition empowering emerging risk professionals to share their insights and experiences.
From a pool of eight applicants, three finalists were selected to compete in the finals, where each was given 15 minutes to deliver a speech and answer questions from both a distinguished panel of judges and the audience.
The three finalists were Abhijeet Mhatre, General Manager at Reliance Infrastructure Limited, Sonal Sisodia, HR professional, Employee Benefits Specialist at Acuity Knowledge Partners and Dr Poonam B Gilani, Senior Manager – Group Insurance at Airtel.
After a compelling round of speeches and careful deliberation by the judges, Sonal Sisodia was named the winner of the Mumbai edition. She now joins the esteemed ranks of PARIMA’s celebrated Next-Gen Risk Takers, alongside Daisuke Kamei from Japan and Muhammad Uzair Abd Rais from Malaysia.
“I’m truly excited about coming to Singapore and deeply grateful to all the judges for recognising my work. One piece of advice I’d like to share with fellow risk managers is to always take a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks, rather than waiting to react,” said Sonal.
“My mentor encouraged me to take part in this challenge, and I believe it’s a wonderful platform to share our risk insights and personal stories — as well as to learn from others,” said Abhijeet.
“I’ve always had stage fright, so participating in this challenge really helped me overcome that fear. One piece of advice I’d give to risk managers is to always act in the best interests of your organisation,” said Dr Poonam.
