PARIMA proudly concluded the second edition of its Next-Gen Risk Takers challenge in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on 22 May 2025 –– a dynamic speaking competition empowering emerging risk professionals to share their insights and experiences.
From nine applicants, three finalists were selected to take centre stage and deliver their speeches before a panel of judges tasked with selecting the winner.

The three finalists were Muhammad Uzair Abd Rais, Assistant Vice President at Khazanah Nasional Berhad, Nurbaitee Ismail, Risk & Insurance Manager at Petrofac (Malaysia-PM304) Limited and Haslinda Safiah Hassan, Risk Information System Executive at Petronas.

After a compelling round of speeches, the judges deliberated and selected Muhammad Uzair Abd Rais as the winner of the Next-Gen Risk Takers, Kuala Lumpur Edition, joining our first-round winner –– Daisuke Kamei from Japan.

“I’m truly excited to be coming to Singapore and deeply honoured to have won this challenge. This opportunity allows me to reflect on my journey, prepare for what lies ahead, and share my story. I’m also looking forward to hearing the experiences and insights of others,” said Uzair.
While they did not claim the top spot, finalists Nurbaitee Ismail and Haslinda Safiah Hassan offered thoughtful insights and takeaways from their journey in the challenge.

“The most challenging part was delivering the speech and making sure our preparation aligned with the final delivery. I’m truly grateful to have been part of this challenge — it was a great opportunity for me to gain visibility and presence within the industry,” said Nurbaitee.

“One of my key takeaways is to always embrace new challenges. Through this experience, I discovered just how supportive my team has been — they guided me and helped me build the confidence to speak in front of a large audience,” said Haslinda, the youngest finalist of the Kuala Lumpur edition.
