17 April 2026 –– PARIMA successfully concluded its Next-Gen Risk Takers Challenge – Taipei Edition, a dynamic speaking competition designed to empower emerging risk professionals by providing them with a platform to share their insights, experiences, and perspectives with a live audience.
The Next-Gen Risk Takers Challenge is proudly supported by QBE as the Title Sponsor, reflecting a shared commitment to developing the next generation of risk professionals and encouraging new perspectives within the industry.
The challenge attracted strong interest from the local risk community, with applications received from professionals across various industries. Following a competitive selection process, three finalists were selected to compete in the finals.
The three finalists who took centre stage were:
- Charmaine Marie Villa, Operations Risk Manager at St. Luke’s Medical Center
- Michelle H. Yang, Senior Specialist at Qisda Corporation
- Ryan Chiang, Assistant Manager at Hon Hai Precision Industry Co., Ltd
Following a compelling round of presentations, the judges deliberated and selected Charmaine Marie Villa as the winner of the Next-Gen Risk Takers Challenge – Taipei Edition.

“This is a very meaningful experience for me, and at the same time, this is a reflection of what my team believes in. We have the mindset that risk management is not something that we deliver, but it is something that we build with people,” said Charmaine.
Building on the success of its Hong Kong debut, the Next-Gen Risk Takers Challenge will continue across Asia in 2026, with upcoming editions scheduled in Manila, Mumbai, Penang, and Beijing. Winners will receive a subsidised trip and the opportunity to take part in the inaugural Grand Final at the PARIMA Singapore Conference from 14 to 15 October 2026. The winner of the Grand Final will be crowned the Ultimate Next-Gen Risk Taker.
The 2026 Ultimate Next-Gen Risk Taker will be offered the opportunity to participate in the 2027 edition of EQUIP, QBE’s flagship broker development programme or an equivalent leadership development programme, subject to availability.
